I am a local artist and teacher here in Arnold, and art has always been one of my biggest loves my entire life. I love to capture and create portraits of both animals and women. I started painting my fur baby portraits beginning with my pug Bubby. I chose to incorporate flower crowns, because of my love of nature; and to show how whimsical and free our fur babies truly are. I then began painting portraits of women, because I have always been enamored with the sheer strength and beauty of all women.

I work mainly with traditional watercolor paints,  and gouache watercolors also. I also work with mixed media such as: acrylic inks, colored pencils, and metallic textures like gold leaf and glitter.

I also am a fiber artist, and I create weavings and wall hangings using macrame and yarn. I pretty much love to add color to anything, and I am trying to add more color into our world one creation at a time.

Each portrait begins with a sketch from a photograph, then I lay down my base colors with watercolors, and proceed to paint in several layers to build up each piece. Afterwards, I detail with shading and highlights to finish the paint process. To finish each piece I add in metallic inks, gold leafing with adhesive, and fine glitters. Each painting takes about 12 hours to create.

I offer commissions of both fur baby and portrait paintings.  I am a very versatile artist, and can paint portraits or landscapes in addition to my fur baby collection for various commissions. If you are interested in a commission feel free to send me an email at furbabyartstudios@gmail.com  You can also order original art pieces, giclee prints, finished weavings, plant hangers, and stickers through my shop here.
